2. What data do we collect

We collect personal data for a variety of purposes, including maintaining efficient business operations and providing you with the best product experience. At E-tower, we collect the data you provide, data about your interaction with E-tower, and data about the use of products. Users provide data directly, for example when creating an E-tower account. Other types of data are collected through the process of interaction with our products, your use and experience with our products, and related communications.

The types of data we collect include:

Contact data: email addresses, contact addresses, contacts, and phone numbers.

Credentials: The password and verification code used to verify and access the account.

After sales: Once a product is registered, data related to the product purchased, such as codes and product lines, may be collected. Interactive data includes:

  2. Device and configuration data: Data about your device, device configuration, and adjacent networks. For example, your device's IP address, SN, device identifier, location and language Settings, and adjacent WLAN access points.   3. Troubleshooting and Assistance Data: Data submitted when you contact E-tower for assistance, such as authentication information and data related to your device and its corresponding products.

Location data: Geolocation data is required when registering a product via wi-fi or Bluetooth and when using a camera to scan a QR code to connect the product to the app, as well as when necessary to provide the product service, geolocation data is required and denial of authorization will limit the provision of the product service.

WIFI configuration: Data about WIFI configuration. When you configure WIFI using the E-tower mobile app, we need access to your geolocation authorization and current WIFI SSID. Denying access will limit WIFI configuration-related features.

We also obtain data from third parties. We protect any data obtained from third parties for the purposes described below, as well as any other restrictions imposed by the data source. Includes:

Google Analytics: Google Analytics is a web-based analytics service. Web Analytics is the process of collecting and analyzing data related to website visitors. During the entire process, no personal data of the user is collected or used. Web analytics is primarily used for website optimization. Information collected includes the website the user came from, the subpages the user has visited, the frequency and duration of visits to the subpages, etc.

Baidu Map: We locate the neighborhood block where the device is located by converting the latitude and longitude in Google Maps to the latitude and longitude in Baidu Maps, calling the official API of Baidu Maps and referencing the country address and zip code. These locations will be displayed on the map on the home pages of installers, distributors and service companies. This feature is only used to count the number of devices within a certain area and is not used to identify the exact location of the user.

3. The purpose for which the data is collected

We outline the purposes for which user data is collected.

  1. To allow you to use applications and web applications, register connected devices and use the services and features offered by their use to get help and maintenance, manage your personal data and thus provide the services you need.
  2. To respond to your requests for assistance with the functionality, use and maintenance of the device, or to answer your questions about our products and services. According to E-tower, when assisting end users in submitting customer complaints, installers/distributors/service providers must obtain consent from users before using email addresses, phone numbers and usernames. Verify that the above three vendors have obtained your consent before helping you file a customer complaint. During this process, these installers/distributors/service providers will become controllers of some of your private data. Likewise, they will protect the security of your personal data.

If, in the course of using our products, you have any objection to the purposes and permissions for the use of your personal data as described in this Policy, you may withdraw your consent to this Privacy Policy and exercise your rights as a data subject by deleting the private personal data or deactivating your account.

4. What do we do with the data

We will primarily process your data using registration, extraction, analysis and archiving tools, which are protected by systems that provide industry-standard security guarantees.

5. Duration of data storage

1    For purposes of contractual and legitimate commercial interests, the data will be stored for a period equal to the provision of the service you requested and for a period of 10 years thereafter, without prejudice to any case where legal proceedings require storage for a subsequent period and, in the event of a dispute, from the competent authority or as required by the applicable regulation.

2    The data collected by your express consent will be retained until the purpose is fulfilled and in any case for no longer than 10 years. Consent forms will be periodically assessed to verify that their retention is fit for purpose for which the consent was collected. You are free to revoke a given consent at any time.

6. With whom we share data

Haier New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. is a company located at No. 57, 17 Jiujiang Road, Tongji Sub-District Office, Jimo District, Qingdao City, Shandong Province, China. For specific requirements related to the server location of Haier New Energy or its providers, the servers and databases are located within the EEA in order to provide the relevant services.

For contractual purposes and legitimate business interests purposes, your data may be shared with the following parties:

1) for contractual purpose, your data may be communicated to persons authorized and appropriately notified and trained by Haier NEV, or to third party persons acting on behalf of Haier NEV and as data processors in accordance with Haier NEVs instructions, including companies providing technical and pre-sales/post-sales assistance.

Third parties providing services include the following categories:

a. Original Equipment manufacturers;

b. Third party service providers who provide assistance and advisory services to the company in relation to (including but not limited to) technical support, equipment maintenance consulting, fault-finding advice activities;

c. providers of IT and maintenance services;

d. Subsidiaries of Haier Group;

e. Parties and authorities whose right to access data is explicitly recognized by laws, regulations or measures promulgated by competent authorities.

2) for legitimate business interests purposes, your data may be shared with the following parties:

a. Third party service providers who provide assistance and advisory services to Haier Energy in relation to (including but not limited to) technical, accounting, administrative, legal and insurance support;

b. Companies under Haier Group;

As part of the Haier Group, Haier New Energy may transfer your data within its business group for administrative and accounting purposes. The legal basis on which the processing of data is lawful for this purpose is the legal basis referred to in Article 1 (1) f) of Regulation No 6 (EU) 679/2016, or because the processing is necessary to pursue the legitimate interest of the data controller in the circulation of the data within its business group for administrative purposes.

c. Potential purchasers of Haier Energy and entities arising from the merger or any other form of transformation related to Haier Energy;

d. Competent authorities.

 

At the same time, Haier NEV also relies on providers located in third countries outside the EU - as data processors. Your data may also be transferred between Haier Group companies whose registered offices are located in third countries outside the EU, or to our service providers and third-party providers acting on our behalf, as described in this disclosure. If you are a minor, you may not register as a user on the website or app, or otherwise provide us with your personal data.
